![]() Considering how the vast majority of takedowns against large Zeds in this game actually require a bit more than 1-2 measly headshots to pull off, it would do you well to get some perspective on how OP current Rail still is even after its nerf during the Summer Sideshow. We're talking about a fast-reloading hitscan weapon that's effective even at extremely long ranges, does ~90% of a scrake's head health with a single measly headshot, can two shot FPs while triggering stumble with the first headshot, has 40 shots in reserve, and leaves you six weight for any number of offperk or onperk sidearms to use for self defense or even backup large Zed takedowns. If either pulling out your 9mm to get those stacks with an extra measly two headshots or simply having ambient stacks to begin with by landing headshots on other enemies is too difficult and makes the weapon unusable in your hands compared to the laughably broken monstrosity that was 1064 Rail, I have to suggest that you might want to play a perk other than Sharpshooter, because clearly your headshot accuracy is the biggest issue here.Įven at T4 - where you physically cannot one-shot a scrake with Rail and need some pre damage from a Magnum or SPX headshot - Rail is still very unbalanced. Other characters enjoy using the various Sharpshooter weapons as well, though only DJ Scully and Rae Higgins prefer the Rail Gun.You can surpass that remaining 50 damage by simply having at least 2 REU stacks prior to shooting the scrake with Rail.
